Information Regarding Room Rentals

All guests staying at Quaker House must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

COVID best practices and NY State and Institution guidelines are constantly evolving. Guidelines may change by the start of the summer season or be adjusted during the season.

Rooms

Rooms are rented by the week, Saturday to Saturday, during the 9-week summer season. Arrival is between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm; departure the following Saturday is by 10:00 am. 

No meals are provided, but guests will have access to shared kitchen facilities as COVID precautions allow.  Coffee and tea are available, self-serve.

Children are welcome.

Rooms do not have phones or TVs.  House has free WiFi.  

Note: All bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. There is no elevator.

  • Room #21, 2nd Floor:  1 double bed, ceiling fan only   $300
  • Room #22, 2nd floor:  2 single beds; AC   $325
  • Room #31, 3rd floor:  2 single beds; AC   $325
  • Room #32, 3rd floor:  1 queen bed + 1 single bed; AC   $350

Rooms 21, 31, and 32 have room for an infant Pac N Play/portable crib (not provided).

In keeping with current COVID restrictions, the bathroom on the 2nd floor (with tub/shower) will be for the sole use of the persons staying on the 2nd floor; the bathroom on the 3rd  floor (with shower) will be for the sole use of the persons staying on the 3rd floor bedroom. There is a handicapped accessible bathroom with shower on the 1st floor for staff and visitors to Meeting for Worship and programs.

Linens may be rented for $15 per set (sheets, pillowcase(s), 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel and 1 face cloth.) Please bring your own gym towel/beach towel.

Some accommodations may be made for guests with special needs. Please email or call Registrar Kathy Slattery with specific needs and requests BEFORE mailing in this application. 

Financial Assistance

Some financial assistance may be available. If you need assistance in order to attend a week during Chautauqua’s summer season, please contact the Registrar, Kathy Slattery.

Off season

Quaker House guest bedrooms may be rented after the season’s close in 2021; between Monday, August 30 until 10 am on Friday October 15, by the night or by the weekend, following current COVID precautions and Quaker House best practices. The house may be rented by small groups for one day retreats. Ask the Registrar, Kathy Slattery, about availability, cost and COVID restrictions. During the off season, no gate pass is required.

Emergency Contact

You will be asked to list an emergency contact person who is not staying at Quaker House.  Please inform this person that you have listed them as your emergency contact.

House Rules and Policies

Please review the Quaker House Guidelines and Kitchen Policies before you complete the form as your signature indicates your willingness to comply with them.

Please Note:

The Chautauqua Institution charges a gate fee during the nine week summer season, and you must have a gate pass to enter the grounds. Children 12 and under as well as those over 90 do not pay this fee. The weekly gate pass increases in price on June 1. Note: The weekly gate pass fee is fully refundable until June 26. The room rate does not cover gate fees or parking. Please check the Chautauqua Institution website for information about these fees.

Payment

Full payment for room plus optional linens must accompany each application.  Your check will be returned to you/shredded if your request cannot be filled. 

In addition, a statement verifying that all prospective adult guests have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 must accompany the application.

On the first of April, and on the first of subsequent months if space is not fully booked or if restrictions change, all room reservation requests will be considered in order of postmark. Applicants will be advised of their reservation status by April 15 for requests received by April 1; May 15 for requests received by May 1; and June 15 for requests received by June 1; or until capacity under current COVID guidelines is met and wait list is full.

Cancellations

If you cancel on or before May 1, 2021, $200 will be refunded. If you cancel after May 1, 2021, you will NOT receive a refund.  Note: Due to COVID, the cancellation policy for 2021 will be flexible. Please contact the Registrar with your questions.
